Day 1: Kampala- Queen Elizabeth National park
Distance & Time Estimates: 435km south west of Kampala (6 hour drive) Morning; drive off to Queen Elizabeth National park to have a stop at the Equator for Photographs. You will then follow the mystical mountains of the moon for most of the journey. Enjoy game enroute as you check in at Mweya Safari Lodge for Lunch. Have lunch and go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channels that Joins Lakes Edward and George. The trip will pass you through swamps of Hippos, buffaloes and birds residents and migrants. The trip generally offers a prolific bird life making the trip a birders paradise. Retire for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Activities Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Gorilla Park
Take a cup of tea if you want at 06:00am and go for an early morning game drive along the Kasenyi track and Queens’s mile in the park. At 06:30am Look out for animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs, Hyenas, Leopards, mangoose and birds this will take 3 – 4 hours depending on how the game drive is. Retire from the game drive for breakfast and packed lunch, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Park 162km drive. You will drive through the Maramagambo and Ishasha sector to watch out for game enroute. Lookout for climbing Lions in the Ishasha sector however, these are seasonal, reach in time in the late evening for dinner and Overnight.
Day 3: Bwindi gorilla trekking safari
Early in the morning go for breakfast at 7:00am before briefing at the park headquarters at 7:45am then proceed for Gorilla tracking which may take 4hours or the whole day depending on the Gorilla movements. Bwindi Impenetrable forest is stunning as it offers a dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape crossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access for tourists. You will also look out for mammals like elephant, monkeys, giant forest hogs, duikers, leopards and many more. It is a tiring activity but the observing and spending time with these humble giants is exciting, awe-inspiring, and unforgettable. The gorillas are known to be peaceful and shy animals. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Return to Kampala
After breakfast, drive back to Kampala; Have a lunch enroute while proceeding to Kampala or Entebbe. Have a stop at the equator if you want to take photographs.
