Budongo Central Forest Reserve
Budongo forest has numerous primates that can affordably be visited including the chimpanzee which is the major activity here, the prolific bird life and the huge mahogany trees that dominate the forest in this area. The forest is right on the road to Murchison Falls, just to the south of the park, and is a great place to stop and have a guided walk through the dense virgin tropical forest. The forest’s Royal Mile is thought by many to offer the best bird-watching in the whole of Uganda. There are more than 350 species found here, including several types of King Fishers, hornbill and eagle and more birds that you can watch here.
Day 1: Kampala City – Murchison falls National Park
A pleasantly planned safari begins at 08:00am when your guide takes you for a drive on northward pleasant safari which will include you’re a lunch stop in Masindi before proceeding to the Murchison falls. Upon arrival at the park, you will begin to encounter with variety of birds, monkeys, and baboons in the cool Budongo forest as you are guided along. An opportunity to enjoy a short walk a long the main road searching for some birds and primates, proceed to check in, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Today’s Activities that will include; Chimpanzee trekking and boat Ride in Murchison Falls.
Early in the morning after your breakfast go for a chimpanzee trekking and return to head to the River Nile for your afternoon Launch trip at sun downer to the bottom of the falls, a three hours launch trip enable you to see some animals that come to the banks of the River Nile to drink water, some come to sun bathe as the Nile provides a corridor year-round water for these animals as well as a plethora of water birds (including the rare shoebill stork) and Uganda’s largest population of Nile crocodile. And animals like: – crocodiles, hippos and elephants will be seen here before you check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Murchison falls National Park – Kampala
At 07:30am after breakfast, an early morning game drive at 07:00am enables you to see some of the large mammals that include; lion, leopard, elephant, hippopotamus, Rothschild’s giraffe, Cape buffalo, hartebeest, oribi, warthog, and Uganda kob. And if you are lucky this morning you will spot the famous shoe bill that always loiters around the Nile delta. After the game drive with your picnic lunch you will leave Murchison falls national park heading back to Kampala via Kampala or Entebbe or your home.
